Chad Mathews, Golder Associates, Inc.

Chad Mathews is a Senior Project Scientist with Golder Associates’ EHS Compliance Services group in Jacksonville and is a Master Level Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM).  Chad has ten years of EHS management experience including seven years in the chemical and plastics industries prior to joining Golder in 2005.  His primary practice areas include EHS Management Systems development, EHS regulatory compliance, chemical waste management, and chemical reporting.

James Griffin, Geosyntec Consultants

James Griffin is a Senior Staff Hydrogeologist with Geosyntec Consultants and serves as the EH&S Coordinator for the Jacksonville and Pensacola offices.  James joined Geosyntec in 2005 after receiving a Master of Science degree in geology from Auburn University and has experience in a variety of practice areas including site assessment and remediation, water resource investigations, and environmental compliance.  James has served as the NEFAEP vice president since 2007.

Wayne Holt, Atlantic Marine

Wayne Holt is the Environmental and Safety Director for Atlantic Marine Florida, LLC and Atlantic Marine Mayport, LLC located in Jacksonville, Florida.  He has been with the Atlantic Companies since 1993, and oversees the administration of all environmental, industrial hygiene, and general safety related issues.  Wayne received a Bachelors of Science degree in Architectural Engineering from Florida A & M University and a Masters of Science degree in Environmental Engineering from La Salle University.  He also received accreditation in 1996 as a Registered Environmental Manager (REM # 8288) and as a Certified Environmental Auditor (CEA # 7894) through the National Registry of Environmental Professionals.

Michael Thomas

Michael Thomas is an environmental scientist with nearly 13 years of experience in technical, staff, and supervisory roles in both government and private sector environments.  His experience includes the areas of wetland delineation, Phase I site assessments, St. Johns River Water Management District (SJRWMD) environmental resource permitting (ERP), U.S. Army Corps of Engineers(USACE) permitting, geographic information systems (GIS), Flora and wildlife surveys, Universal Mitigation Assessment Method (UMAM), and project management.  He is also a Certified Sediment and Erosion Control Inspector.  Michael holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Science from Jacksonville University.

Trey Mills, Rogers Towers

Trey's practice is focused exclusively in environmental law, including: representation of individuals, businesses and lenders concerning handling, treatment, disposal of hazardous substances, hazardous wastes and petroleum products; representation and advice concerning underground storage tanks, air and water quality, wastewater treatment, disposal and remediation practices; advice to sellers, buyers and lenders regarding environmental concerns in real estate transactions; environmental permitting including marina and docks, dredge and fill, and wetlands; and, enforcement and litigation, including administrative proceedings.

Felicia Boyd, Felicia M. Boyd & Associates, Inc.

Felicia Boyd is a Florida-certified Professional Geologist and president of Felicia M. Boyd & Associates, Inc., an environmental consulting business located in Jacksonville Beach, Florida. She has over 25 years of professional experience as a hydrogeologist specializing in contamination assessments and groundwater resources evaluations. She currently serves as the Duval County Watershed Action Volunteer coordinator for the St. Johns River Water Management District, training citizens to help with water quality monitoring and storm drain marking, and developing and implementing pollution prevention and water conservation education programs.

Sue Wilcox, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers

Sue Wilcox is a Biologist with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers in Jacksonville and is a Registered Environmental Manager.  Sue has ten years of experience in the environmental field, of which six have been with planning and project management for the Comprehensive Everglades Restoration Plan.  Sue's primary areas of expertise are ecosystem restoration, marine science, and water resources planning and management.  In her free time, Sue serves as President of the Jacksonville Reef Research Team, a non-profit group which conducts artificial reef monitoring and research off northeast Florida.

Steve Luten, JEA

Steve Luten has been with JEA for 24 years in its Environmental Services Department.  Steve’s areas of responsibility include sediment and erosion control, storage tank compliance, and oil and chemical spill prevention, response and cleanup.   Other Environmental Programs include Tier II, PCBs, property assessment, Homeland Security, and JEA Annual Water Quality Report publication.

Ed Currie, U.S. Army Corps of Engineers

Ed Currie is the Environmental Compliance Program Manager for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Jacksonville District, and is a Master Level Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM).  Ed has worked for the federal government for over 24 years, working in environmental and natural resource management programs.  His current program focus is internal environmental compliance assurance for Corps facilities in Florida, Puerto Rico and the US Virgin Islands.

Melissa "Mitzi" Vergenz, Shaw Environmental & Infrastructure

Mitzi Vergenz has over ten years of environmental experience in regulatory, consulting, and production facilities.  As a regulator, she has overseen remedial projects for the Florida Petroleum Preapproval Program and monitored customer compliance with Industrial Pretreatment regulations for a municipal utility.  As a consultant, Mitzi has been involved in projects associated with wastewater discharge and permitting, industrial pretreatment, remedial system design and installation, spill control plans, and Phase I and II site assessments.  In addition, Mitzi was the laboratory manager for a used oil and industrial wastewater processing facility.  She is currently employed by Shaw Environmental and Infrastructure as a professional engineer.

Jennifer Sweeney, Waste Management

Jennifer Sweeney is an Industrial Account Manager with Waste Management. Jennifer works on the landfill and disposal side of Waste Management specializing in hazardous waste, non-regulated industrial/special waste, and contaminated soil disposal.  Jennifer is a Jacksonville University graduate with a Bachelors of Science in Environmental Science/Chemistry.  She has over 12 years of experience in the environmental industry and is a Master Level Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM).

Teresa Fischer is a Senior Geologist and Project Manager with Geosyntec Consultants in Jacksonville.  Teresa has over 20 years of environmental consulting experience in a variety of environmental disciplines including hydrogeologic evaluations, site assessment and remediation, construction oversight, environmental compliance and due diligence.
